Summer in Salt Lake County is all about sunshine, fresh air, and getting outside.
Here’s your Summer Bucket List inspiration to explore all Salt Lake County parks— from the classics to the hidden gems.
Note from Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation regarding spring runoff: several parks (Creekside Park, Scott Avenue Park, Sugar House Park, and Wheeler Historic Farm) serve as detention basins. During spring runoff, these areas may temporarily fill with water to reduce flood risks elsewhere. Always check for closures and use caution (especially in the early summer!).

How to Make It Happen:
Visiting every park in the county (there are a lot) takes quite a bit of time and planning. It’s ok if it takes you longer than one summer. It’s ok if you don’t get to all of them. Some simple tips…
- Make a checklist. Print one and stick it on the fridge. You can find a printable version of this list that I made right here.
- Have fun with it. This isn’t homework. It’s just an excuse to get outside and explore the beautiful county we call home.
For more information on each park, including directions/amenities, visit the Parks & Rec department here.
